Event description
This session is for young people to attend.
Express and acknowledge how you feel about different experiences, thoughts, and emotions through an art themed session. The session will enable you to express yourself through doodling and words.
Thinking about colours for our emotions helps us name and present an alternative language to describe experiences and associated feelings. If we feel unhappy, stressed, or anxious most of the time, it may make us feel ‘red with rage’ or, in a ‘dark depression, blackness’. It’s important to name and tame our most pressing uncomfortable thoughts when we can’t put it straight into words. Mindful doodling, scribbling, or journaling are important activities for getting our feelings onto paper.
Besides recording negative feelings, it’s also important to bank good and positive memories with ‘cheerful colours’ to make us feel happier and more content and hopeful about life in general.
